Great for light even coverage. I use it with clinique compressed powder, and thats all the make up I use! Fabulous. Clean with baby shampoo. Great for acne prone skin.

It’s not every day I rate something 5 stars but this little guy has earned it!

Too faced was smart, create a kabuki brush that is extremely soft yet portable. Other brands such as Smashbox and Bare Esentuals could really learn a thing or two from this idea.

This nearly full sized Kabuki brush retracts down into itself so it’s cap can close it up nicely. The synthetic hair of this brush is luxuriously soft unlike other kabuki brushes I have found on the market.

With a good size head and handle the brush extends out of it’s handle so even while traveling you have a full size kabuki brush unlike other brand’s idea of “travel” brush. With other brands you are 1) missing a decent handle, 2) the brush head is not close to full size and 3) they do not have a case to cover up the brush head.

The case which covers up the brush head is essential in my book. I don’t care about getting residual powder all over my purse nor do I like the idea of the brush head getting mixed up with something I may have left in my purse.

The most important part of this very well designed and soft brush is it’s ability to apply makeup. The brush head is not as compact and stiff as other kabuki brushes but don’t let this lead you into believing it doesn’t work as well. I find it works better as the hair of the brush extends out for better coverage while sweeping my powder foundation over my skin. The brush works great for buffing in foundation when layering the powder on for more coverage as well as applying a light amount of coverage using it as an all over powder brush.

One thing this brush doesn’t do that my other kabuki brushes have done in the past is shed! When I use it to apply my powder foundation it doesn’t leave hair all over my face! What the …. oh? You mean kabuki brushes AREN’T suppose to do this?????

I’m of course being a bit sarcastic there ….

But seriously, when I first purchased this brush it did lose a few hairs but now .. nothing. The brush which came with Bare Escentuals sheds like crazy. I bet if I kept using it I would have worn it down to a stub.

I read the other reviews here on this page and one lady commented that she gave this product four stars because of the price. She paid 28.00 dollars for the brush. I understand that 28.00 dollars is pretty pricey but check out Bare Escentual’s kabuki brush and it’s 28.00 dollars as well and not even close in quality. Other brands range from 10.00 dollars to even 50.00 dollars (Alison Raffaele) so the price for this little beauty is a median of what is on the market today. I’m pretty sure I paid $32.00 dollars for this brush but it was when it first came out and I bought it from Sephora.

Anyways my break down of the good and bad …

Good

1. Extremely soft

2. Portability

3. Functionality (used for a portable and one at home)

4. Good coverage

5. Cute!

Bad

Nothing I can really think of.

It may seem extravagant to invest this much in a make-up brush, but I’ve found that GOOD brushes don’t come cheap. I always spend around this much. The quality can vary. This is my first “synthetic” brush and it’s absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend it for that final mineral or powder application.

This is my favorite portable makeup brush. I keep it in my purse so I can touch up my powder throughout the day. The brush itself is super soft, and it distributes my makeup very well. Also, as you can see, it’s also shiny and pink and super cute! What’s not to love?!
